House of Mystery #222 (Feb. 1974)

Dear Cain,

Issue 222… not your best issue. Both stories were pretty weak.

For example, In Vengeange is Mine, you misspelled the title: v-e-n-g-e-a-n-C-e! From there the story just continues downhill.

The Night of the Teddy Bear is only slightly better. It was off to a good start. I was really liking the character of Casper Twinge. It was building up to something cool. But then, the ending of the story seems like it came about because you hit your target page count.

Tragically, your faithful reader,

Blue Beetle #3 (1977)

Blue Beetle No. 3 was great. I really thought the Madmen had his number when they beat up the beetle three times.

I wish I could get a hold of the original from '67. Thanks for doing this 1977 reprint. If you didn't I probably wouldn't have had a chance to read this story.

But the real prize, I think, was the story with The Question. Where can I get more of that?

Thanks,

Weird War Tales #104 (Oct. 1981)

Dear Mike,

Congrats on becoming the editor of WWT.

I just finished reading #104. It was a lot of fun. I really liked the story Raze the Flag. I didn't see that ending coming.

I also liked War Games. I would love to see more anachronistic battles in your pages. The thought of tanks and helicopters fighting cavalry is just a lot of fun.

Thanks,

The House of Mystery #234 (Aug. 1975)

Dear Cain,

I had a lot of fun with issue 234. It's funny how the story Lafferty's Luck was almost exactly like the Twilight Zone episode Mr. Denton on Doomsday. Maybe Rod Serling got the story from you since you were there. I'm surprised you weren't upset when he made that episode before you got a chance to put the story in print.

Also, where did Cain's Game Room go? I'll certainly pay more for my room if I can get access to the game room again.

A return visitor,
