The Incredible Hulk #167 (Sep. 1973)

Dear Steve and Herb,

The Incredible Hulk #167 left me with a question. I can't be the only one with this question. You must have received others asking the same thing.

The question is: if MODOK's giant body can only be defeated by the Hulk why not use this body to defeat everybody that isn't the Hulk? If this thing can take out the Avengers then do it! Take over the world! Once you've installed yourself as supreme ruler, then you can deal with the Hulk.

Just saying that for as giant as MODOK's brain is he seems to go about things poorly.

1st Issue Special #9 (Dec. 1975)

Dear Editor,

You need to take the story from the Dr. Fate's 1st Issue Special and make it into a movie. It was great!

It has everything that you would need in a Dr. Fate movie. There is are great magical action scenes. It has a flashback to an origin story that isn't too long. It has some romance with Inza. Now, if we could just make the whole movie look like Walt Simonson's drawings…

If it isn't clear I really liked the issue. Do you know where I can find more great Dr. Fate stories like this one?

Thanks,

Weird War Tales #69 (Nov. 1978)

Dear Editor,

I just read Weird War Tales #69. It was a blast.

Out of all of the stories I think my favorite was "The Day After Doomsday". It was a great story of a man trying to survive hundreds of years after the apocalypse--running from mutants in a baron wasteland. Finally finding civilization. Only to have a great twist occur in the final panel.

Keep it coming!

The Incredible Hulk #165 (Jul. 1973)

Dear Team,

The Incredible Hulk #165 was a fun read. The fight with Aquon was epic.

I particularly liked the ending. Where the huge people used to the preasures of the deep sea finally make it to the surface only to suffer from the reduced preasure. It was also great to see the mad scientist Captain Omen did have a heart and care about his son but was helpless to save him.

It did leave me wondering--is this a morality tale? If so what would the moral be? Beware what you wish for because it might be too good to be true? I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Warlord #8 (Sep.1977)

Dear Editor,

Warlord #8 was a ton of fun to read. You had me hooked at the two page inner cover with the pterodactyls swooping down to attack. It was fantastic.

The fight scenes were epic but my favorite panel was just after they fought the robots and Machiste asks "What were those things?" To which Morgan replies "Robots! Sort of… man-made slaves!" "All slaves are man-made, Morgan!"

But, I do have a question. How does Mariah's outfit stay in place? The way I see it is that there are two options: either, her outfit is painted on and we can't tell be cause of the Comics Code, or, she has a super power to allow fabric to adhere to her skin.

Thanks for the fun read,

Alpha Flight #3 (Oct. 1983)

Dear Editor,

I picked up Alpha Flight #3 because of it's awesome cover. And when I read what was inside I wasn't disappointed.

The story itself was decent. I feel like I'm coming into it in the middle (since I haven't read the previous issues) but I certainly want to read more. I also dug the back story for The Master. The phrase "once a jerk—always a jerk" comes to mind.

I also liked Gaurdian's back story that you through in there too. But it did have me wondering why the appearance of the Fantastic Four gave him his "purpose"—his impetus to become Guardian. Was it that he didn't want to be out done by Reed Richards? Or, was it that he wasn't creative enough to think of giving himself super powers before that point?

Either way, I'll be looking forward to reading more Alpha Flight.

Weird War Tales #79 (Sep. 1979)

Dear Editor,

"The Gods Themselves" from WWT #79 was epic! I loved it. One amazing warrior fighting off an army of the gods. It was fantastic. You've got to make more like this!

The other stories in the book were pretty good too. All and all, this might be one of the strongest issues of WWT I've read in a while. Keep up the good work
